I usually don’t blog about my internship day-to-day, but I think today merits a little attention :) I can’t quite put to words how much I enjoy working for PR, but I could take a shot at explaining why today I’m extra-pleased, Hehe. Got dragged to join the winners of the Haagen-Dazs Secret Sensations promo in The Fort— it was a meet & greet + football session with Phil Younghusband, one of Haagen-Dazs’ brand ambassadors (the other one being Georgina Wilson). The best part? Free ice cream! (#)

Introducing the newest offerings of Haagen Dazs: Secret Sensations. It comes in two flavors, crème brûlée and chocolate fondant— and the secret sensation inside every scoop is the caramel/chocolate syrup, which keeps its viscous liquid form unlike most syrups in other ice creams.

So anyway, of course we weren’t there just for the ice cream but for the winners to meet Phil as well. He was really accommodating and had unbelievably nice, perfectly-aligned teeth… Hahaha. But, yun nga, he really is poster-boy material, obviously. We got to chat with him for a bit and everything went really well from there. Of course I couldn’t leave without this (even though I wasn’t a fan, I sort of freaked out when he and I made beso goodbye Hahahaha):

Hi! I don’t think it’s hard to find, I see it in most bookstores :) I borrowed a copy lang from a friend eh. I have a .pdf (e-book) version though, I can email it to you if you want TA mo lang e-add I won’t publish it :)

It amazes me how much time she spends on 9Gag.

Beating pulse: check! ☺ Still alive and kicking after a week or so of not updating. I’ve been alternating light and heavy boots since May started because of reasons mostly centered on a certain feeling of blandness infiltrating my supposed favorite month of the year— but I figured I have to stop putting labels on months from now on, Haha! But if it matters, and for me it does (LOL), first week went really good! I’m loving every bit of my internship plus I’ve been spending quality time with old and new people. We’ve also made progress in terms of OrComSoc duties so May’s bound to be a busy month for us. As they all say here on Tumblr, ‘action is distraction’! ☺

Aside from after-‘work’ dinners, also included in the highlights of last week were having watched American Pie: The Reunion last Thursday and attending the Shang Blockbuster City fashion show today. American Pie was absolutely funny; definitely a breather from most of the films I’ve been watching recently. Worth seeing in the cinema, swear! Hahaha!

Anyway, in Shang-fashion-show news, here’s the obligatory photo of us interns from the event. Thanks to Ms. Patti for this! Had father-daughter bonding time afterwards so it really was a Saturday well-spent. ☺ ‘til my next update, Haha!

One of the perks of being a bum is having all the time in the world to watch and re-watch a lot of films. But in terms of getting the worth of what you pay for, here’s my take on a couple of movies I’ve seen in the cinema this April.

Wrath of the Titans (#)

Was hesitant to watch this because I was never really a fan of gladiator-ish movies. I was already sitting in the moviehouse when I was told it was a sequel to Clash of the Titans, which I didn’t watch, but it didn’t matter anyway— it was a good film on its own. After having a Percy Jackson hangover (it’s been on repeat in Star Movies), I had an easy time understanding Wrath of the Titans as it was, at least, a more serious attempt towards the whole mythology concept. Worth watching, 8/10. I especially loved how Andromeda was poised 99% of the time, except when they had won and she opened her mouth and celebrated like a barbarian. Obviously I had a really good laugh at that part.

Titanic 3D (#)

A real classic, if you ask me— but a waste if you’re after breath-taking 3D effects. It was supposed to be the whole point of the movie, but of course, what could we expect from a sinking ship anyway? It felt good to be watching it in the big screen again though, but if you weren’t able to, you didn’t really miss out on something spectacular. Nonetheless it was still Jack and Rose’s epic tale that had me crying buckets the first time. Boo you if you haven’t seen even the non-3D version at all. Haha.

The Avengers (#)

Okay, I’m probably going to lose some ‘cool’ points over this, but I’ve never read Marvel comics (or any comics for that matter… does Archie count?) nor was I ever a fan of any superhero ‘team’. I’ve played Marvel vs. CapCom and didn’t know most of the characters, plus I haven’t seen Thor or The Hulk so you can call me clueless, alright. I remember watching Captain America and Iron Man, though, and I happened to like both, so I was pretty neutral with watching The Avengers at first. But here’s the verdict coming from a self-confessed non-fan: I absolutely loved it! Hehe *dami pa sinabi* I liked it so much I didn’t mind watching it again with Cre last night. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, wasn’t saturated with overwhelming effects, and was team-oriented enough to not arouse any ‘character’ competition. If anything, it only affirmed my love for Tony Stark, and developed in me a soft spot for The Hulk… Haha I’m pretty sure I’ll be looking forward to the next Avengers film. Enough said.
